Spanish Law 34/2002, on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), in its Article 22.2, requires informing the user of the existence of cookies, disclosing their purpose, and, when they are not strictly necessary for the site to function, requesting their consent.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website may store in your browser when you visit it. They serve to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language, and may last only for the browsing session or remain for a set period of time.
1. Cookies used by this website
This website is deliberately light on cookies: it does not use advertising, nor social media buttons embedded for sharing. The cookies currently in use are:
| Name | Source | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
pll_language | First-party (Polylang) | Remembers the language (Spanish/English) you selected, so you don’t have to choose it again on each visit | Persistent (several months) |
mike_newsletter_subscribed | First-party | Remembers whether you are already subscribed to the newsletter, so the subscription form is not shown to you again once you have subscribed | Persistent |
newsletter | Newsletter Plugin (Stefano Lissa) | Technical cookie used by the newsletter system to show you the correct message when subscribing | Session / technical |
wordpress_logged_in_* / wordpress_test_cookie | First-party (WordPress) | Technical session cookies, relevant only to the site administrator when logging into the management panel; they do not affect visitors who are not logged in | Session |
These cookies do not allow you to be personally identified beyond what is strictly necessary for their purpose, and are never used to build advertising profiles or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
If an additional tool that installs cookies is incorporated in the future (for example, an analytics tool such as Google Analytics), this Cookie Policy will be updated to reflect it before it is activated, including the name, purpose, and duration of each new cookie.
2. Third-party cookies
This site currently does not use third-party cookies. The links to Ko-fi, PayPal, Telegram, and Substack are outbound links to external platforms, not widgets embedded on this site, so they do not install cookies in your browser while you browse mikejayduran.com. If this changes, this section will be updated to detail: the name of the provider, a link to its own cookie policy, and the specific purpose of those cookies on this site.
3. How can I manage or disable these cookies?
You can configure your browser to warn you before a cookie is installed, to reject all cookies, or only third-party cookies, as well as to delete cookies already stored on your device. Keep in mind that you will need to repeat this configuration separately on each browser and device you use.

Keep in mind that if you disable the pll_language cookie, the site will simply detect your language based on your browser settings on each visit, instead of remembering your last choice — the site will continue to work normally.
4. Contact
If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy, you can write to mike@mikejayduran.com.
5. Changes
This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the cookies used by the site or changes in applicable regulations.
